Outriders releases in less than a week and if you were planning on cheating, be warned – you will be forever labeled a dirty cheater and will not be able to play with players who follow rules through matchmaking.
In a pre-release blog post on Steam Outriders developer People Can Fly has put together a ton of information on things like pre-loading, post-launch support, changes made to the game since the demo, and more. One section was devoted to cheaters. And it seems that People Can Fly takes cheaters seriously. What’s interesting about this is that Outriders is strictly a co-op and solo online shooter. There is no PVP or competitive aspect to the game.

If you decide to cheat, you will not be banned, but you will be punished in some other way. For starters, cheaters are kept separate from legitimate players during matchmaking. People Can Fly warns that this will likely lead to longer waiting times. Also small, discreet but easy to spot flag is added to your HUD. - Deliberately running the game on PC without Easy Anti Cheat (EAC)
- Customize game files to improve a character: levels, skills, inventory, etc.
- Adjust game time externally to reduce time dependent functions such as suppliers and challenges
- Using a trainer program or similar to gain benefits within the game
- Using gameplay changing programs such as aimbots or wallhacks.
If you cheated during the demo, People Can Fly gives you the chance to repent and wash away your sins. Before launching the full game, which allows players to bring their demo characters and gear, you will need to delete all characters and items on your entire account. A full swipe.
