Orlando Magic trades Nikola Vucevic to Chicago Bulls

The Orlando Magic is trading Nikola Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu to the Chicago Bulls, ESPN sources said Thursday.

The Bulls send Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter Jr. and two first-round picks in 2021 and 2023 to the Magic, sources told ESPN.

Vucevic, who averaged 24.5 points and 11.8 rebounds this season, is a great addition to the Bulls, who continue to chase Lonzo Ball. The Magic is headed for a rebuild now with an Aaron Gordon deal.

Chicago leaders Arturas Karnisovas, Marc Eversley and Billy Donovan wanted to bring in a serious, prolific veteran to become a cornerstone for the Bulls. They get one at Vucevic, who has been a mainstay at Orlando.

Aminu averages 5.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in his second season with the Magic. He has also played for the LA Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, and Portland Trail Blazers during his 11 NBA seasons.

21-year-old Carter, Duke’s seventh overall pick in 2018, has averaged 10.9 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Bulls this season.

Porter will join his third NBA team, having played for the Wizards and Bulls since entering the league’s third overall pick in 2013. The 27-year-old attacker has scored an average of 9.9 points and 5.5 rebounds for Chicago this season.
