Organization of progressive women mourns the death of Ada Skerret

Today, Tuesday, the Chairman of the Organization of Progressive Women, Representative Jackeline ‘Jackie’ Rodríguez, lamented the death of Ada Skerret, who led the Organization of Popular Women, as a result of COVID-19.

Skerrett died after being in the hospital for several weeks.

“This is sad news for everyone. We have always recognized the fierceness with which Ada defended her postulates, always within a framework of respect and dignity. Today Puerto Rico is losing a great woman, an important political leader for our island. The members of the Women’s Organization of the New Progressive Party unite in prayer for Ada’s eternal rest, ”Rodríguez responded in written statements.

“Our prayers and prayers are with his family and friends today during this difficult time,” he added.

“Certainly today Puerto Rico is losing a great defender of women’s rights and while she will no longer be with us, everything she fought for, yes and we must continue that fight for full equality in all actions, Puerto Rican women must be equal ”He concluded.
