The Wednesday survey of Morning consultation evaluated how 28 of Biden’s executive actions fared with the public.

Only 39 percent of those polled said they supported Biden’s plans to allow an additional 110,000 refugees into the US, raising a limit that was slashed drastically under Trump to a historic low of 15,000.

Opposition to raising the refugee ceiling was largely divided along party lines, although the 37 percent of independents who opposed it represented “the highest level of disagreement against orders followed.”

Biden’s other immigration and justice policies fared better with voters.

The creation of a task force to reunite parents and children separated at the border under the Trump administration was backed by 60 percent of voters, while another leading a review of Trump-era immigration policies was backed by 55 percent of the voters.

But those moves received less support than a coronavirus-related plan to extend a moratorium on evictions or demand a mask on public transport, which received the support of 67 percent and 78 percent of voters, respectively.

Much of Biden’s more specific immigration policies received the support of about half of those surveyed. Fifty-one percent of those surveyed opposed the construction of the border wall, while 38 percent were against the move. Forty-eight percent supported Biden’s choice to repeal the so-called Muslim ban that restricted the travel of many Muslim-majority countries, more than the 41 percent that did not.

Plans to include undocumented immigrants in the census were overturned by 45 percent of voters, while Biden’s call to interrupt Trump’s “ stay in Mexico ” policy to prevent migrants from entering the US to seek asylum was rejected supported by 46 percent of the voters.

A Justice Department memo ending the use of private prisons for federal prisoners was backed by 48 percent of voters, while a ban on transgender people serving in the military was repealed with 53 percent support.

The polls were conducted with nearly 2,000 participants across three windows since Biden took office and have a plus or minus 2 percentage points margin of error.
