The Italian Football Association (FIGC) announced the opening of an investigation on Monday after the tense altercation between the AC Milan attacker. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and its Inter counterpart Romelu Lukaku, during the quarter-final of the Italian Cup last week.
As part of this proceeding, the match referee, Paolo Valeri, will declare “in the next few hours” to “clarify the limits of the sanctions already taken” against the two footballers, FIGC said in a statement.
