UPDATED EXCLUSIVE SUNDAY, 3:06 PM: Deadline has learned that the person who was injured yesterday after falling from a helicopter outside the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita, CA SEAL team actor Justin Melnick. However, the accident involving the actor was during a private commercial shoot and had nothing to do with CBS’s action war series.
Melnick used to be the dog handler SEAL team before getting promoted to recurring actor status, playing Brock Reynolds. Deadline learns that Melnick is home and is recovering with no serious injuries. Authorities said yesterday that he fell 5 to 20 feet while running quickly from the helicopter.
Melnick works with the Belgian Maliniois Dita who plays an explosives detection dog SEAL team, the dog who performs stunts on helicopter flights up climbing ladders. Melnick originally trained her as part of a search and rescue team with the Indiana Police Department he worked with, and later switched her to narcotics detection.

UPDATE, Saturday 9:30 PM: The deadline has learned that it may have been a stuntman who fell 4.5 to 20 feet from a helicopter outside Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in Santa Clarita, California this afternoon and was rushed to hospital. The person was quickly tug of war from the helicopter.
“His injuries appear to be very minor,” Sgt. Aaron Jacob, a sergeant waiting at the LA County Sheriff’s station in Santa Clarita, tells Deadline.
The local authorities and Blue Cloud Movie Ranch have not provided details of the film or TV production that was being shot when the accident occurred.

PREVIOUS, Saturday 7:47 PM: An adult male rappelling from a helicopter and fell near the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch was hospitalized late Saturday afternoon.
According to reports from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and radio station KHTS, the person was steady conscious when the first responders arrived on the scene.
The deadline reached out tonight to the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch, which gave no comment and no indication as to which TV or movie production was involved in the helicopter incident.
The Blue Cloud Movie Ranch is a 250-acre movie studio located 30 miles north of Los Angeles with locations that can be doubled for the Middle East and Afghanistan. Such feature film productions shot there include Iron Man, Iron Man 3, American Sniper as well as TV series Arrested Development, agents of SHIELD and Real blood.
The details that led to the man’s fall were not immediately known tonight. We will update you when we find out more.
