Onamet: At the moment, the ash from the La Soufriere volcano will not reach Dominican territory

The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported that it continues to monitor the activity of the volcano La Soufriere, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, but that “it is impossible that the ash associated with the event is currently reaching Dominican territory” ., reiterate that the gases that deteriorate the air quality in the upper atmosphere for the weekend will have minimal to no effect on the health of the citizen, allowing them to normalize their lives ”.

On Saturday morning, a meteorological environment of few clouds will be presented in the northern zone, the Cibao Valley and the Northeast, but some cloud concentrations will be observed above the central mountain range, sectors in the Southwest and the coastal plains of the Caribbean.

These conditions will change after noon for some provinces as the humidity will arrive, which when interacting with the orography increases cloud cover and weak showers will be generated over El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Miches, Sabana de la Mar, San Francisco, Cotuí , Santiago, La Vega, Bonao, San Juan and other border sectors.
