On the coast of Loíza, $ 7.4 million worth of cocaine is seized

Agents with the Fajardo Maritime Division seized a shipment of 239 blocks of cocaine yesterday and intervened with four crewmembers on a maritime patrol at 10:30 a.m. on the north coast of Loíza.

The estimated value of the drug found is approximately $ 7,409,000.00.

As stated in the preliminary police report, the authorities intervened with a boat with its navigation lights turned off, and after being warned to stop, the crew fled to the banks of the Río Grande de Loíza.

This ship had four crew on board, three of which were rescued by the US Coast Guard and one by Fajardo Maritime Division personnel. These carried ten bundles containing 239 blocks of cocaine.
