Ohio State gets a narrow win over Penn State. Three takeaways.

The Big Ten struck again.

Ohio State caught fire out of the gate on Wednesday night, hitting Penn State with a whopping eleven points higher in the first half. Somewhere along the way towards the end of the second half, the Nittany Lions’ mindset changed, energy and purpose increased, and things started to change.

The Buckeyes could never quite release the pressure on the ball that Penn State displayed, and it resulted in a narrow 83-79 breakaway after a massive road victory against a top ten Wisconsin team. A victory is a victory, is a victory, but it was a battle tonight.

Still, this is arguably the deepest and most talented conference in the country, and if you don’t come to play, any team in the league can charge you. That almost happened on Wednesday night and you can bet head coach Chris Holtmann would rather teach lessons in victory than after a defeat.

As we do after every game, here are three takeaways we’ve observed during all the action.
