A man of British descent said he would like his body to be donated to London Zoo lions after his death to serve as food, he said in an interview for TBS on Tuesday.
“It would be nice to be lion food at the London Zoo, it would be nice to give something back,” he said.
He revealed that this decision was made because people eat different animal species for what it would be like to give them back, according to 24 Hours.
“We eat animals and destroy habits, and at least that way I could give something back,” he added.
In addition, he explained that it would be funny to see the expressions on tourists’ faces if they saw his corpse “fat and malnourished” when they tossed it into the lion’s cage.
A few days later, Kathryn England, the zoo’s director of operations in the British capital, rejected Ricky Gervais’s proposal.
“I guess Ricky might be a little gristly to our lions.”
For this reason, he suggested that instead of donating his body, he could make a financial donation to give the lions “a better diet.”
“We’re all going to die, I don’t mind being dead because I won’t know,” Gervais said in the interview.
