Ocarina of Time Unreal Engine Remake has left Nintendo fans in awe

Nintendo should never remake The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but a fan of the game has remade it in Unreal Engine and the final product has impressed Nintendo fans and fantasizes about a good remake on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite, or possibly even the Super Switch, which has the extra power needed to fully realize the Nintendo 64 classic with modern graphics.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the fifth entry in The Legend of Zelda series, but the first to use 3D graphics. When it came out in 1998, it was quickly hailed as one of the best games of the year, eventually tipping off not just as one of the best games on the Nintendo 64, but one of the greatest games of all time. In fact a lot Zelda fans consider it the best, or at least one of the best, Zelda games made so far.

That said while The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is an undeniable classic, it has not aged very well like most early 3D games. Not only are the controls clunky, but the visuals aren’t too hot, which makes YouTuber Yianni Papazis’s above remake all the more impressive. As you can see, Papazis has rebuilt Castle Town and a few other parts of the game in Unreal Engine. And not surprisingly, Nintendo fans are very happy with it in the comments.

While Nintendo stays put Ocarina of Time, it is currently working on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, which may be released sooner than previously thought. Meanwhile, the series is also celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Celebrating the same anniversary last year before Mario, Nintendo got big, and many Nintendo fans expect it to do something similar Zelda. In other words, there is still hope that we can see something like the video above in the near future.
