The good news is that the storm is not expected to reach the same magnitude as the 2-3 feet of snow earlier this week.
WARNING: Winter storm warning New York City, Long Island, and parts of the Tri-State area
Two separate storms – one coming from the west and one developing towards the south – will not merge to create a powerful storm. Instead, one will weaken west on Saturday night, while the other will start moving off the east coast.
Unlike the previous snowstorm in the Northeast, this storm is moving fast and the amounts of snowfall should be relatively lighter.
During the day on Sundays, the snow can sometimes be heavy in the Northeast with snowfall of up to 2 inches per hour. This causes poor visibility and dangerous road conditions.

The storm will be almost out of the northeast on Sunday evening, with only a few scattered snow showers.
In addition, much of the ground is covered with snow, so at least on snow-covered surfaces, the snow will have no problem accumulating.
Widespread snow of 3 to 6 inches is possible – just enough to cause some stoppages, but road staff should be able to keep up.
And keep those shovels on hand next week. We may have a chance of snow or rain on Tuesday, allowing us to enter some bitterly cold polar air.
