The nor’easter will track the coldest air mass of the season, giving the region a single digital and cold wind below zero.
Much of the Tri-State area has a Winter Storm Watch issued from late Sunday evening through Monday evening. Strong winds for the city and coast are possible, as well as concerns about coastal flooding.
Meteorologist Amy Freeze says there is a 40% chance that the city’s snow totals will be in the 6-10 inch zone by the end of the storm.
Due to the long duration of the storm, the snow becomes messy and not neatly packed.
In Central and South Jersey, those residents should expect to be hit harder, with a 10-plus-inch chance.

Smaller amounts of snow will be seen north and west of the city.
Storm and storm conditions are possible on waters from Sunday evening to Monday evening.
Watch out for strong gusts of wind in the city and the coast as the winds increase to 40-50 mph Monday to Monday evening.
There is a flood guard for Long Island and south Queens Monday through Monday evenings.
