NYC COVID-19 Vaccinations Postponed, Personal Classes Scrapped Due to Snow

Monday’s scheduled vaccination appointments for the coronavirus have been postponed due to the impending snowstorm, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Sunday – along with the suspension of personal school classes and alternative side parking.

From Sunday evening and Tuesday, at least 14 to 16 inches of snow will be laid to cover New York, the mayor predicted at a City Hall press conference.

“Fourteen to six inches would be bad enough,” he said. “It could be much more than that.”

With the storm approaching, de Blasio announced that all coronavirus vaccination appointments scheduled for Monday will be rescheduled, with a call on Tuesday’s appointments yet to be made.

“The last thing we want to do is urge our seniors to come out in the middle of a storm like this,” he said.

Additionally, in-person classes in public schools for Monday have been dropped and classes are going online.

As with vaccination appointments, there is yet to be a call for Tuesday’s lessons, de Blasio said.

Alternate side parking has been suspended for both Monday and Tuesday, he said.
