Nunuk Nuraini: Indomie instant noodles seasoning dead at 59

Nurlita Novi Arlaida, the head of Indofood’s Public Relations, confirmed Nuraini’s death in a statement to the local newspaper, Kompas.

The cause of death was not disclosed.

Following the news of her death, many fans took to social media to pay tribute to the recipe developer who worked at the company for nearly 30 years, where she produced the hugely popular ‘mi goreng’ and other flavors for the brand.

ndomie, an Indonesian company under the umbrella of Indofood, is the country’s largest noodle brand.

However, the influence of instant noodles has grown beyond Indonesia’s borders.

In Nigeria, Indomie is the noodle of choice for many in the country, despite the prevalence of numerous brands in the market.

The instant noodle was first exported to Nigeria in 1988 and had opened its first production plant in 1995. With three factories in the West African country, the company says it produces eight million packets of noodles every day to meet the high demand.
