NORTHGLENN, color (CBS4) – Police closed a section of Washington Street near 104th Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Northglenn police say the driver of a black SUV drove recklessly and hit and killed a pedestrian.

Northglenn agents say they saw the SUV hit a fence north of Muriel Drive, and Washington St. Police identified the victim as only a woman.
Thornton Police said the incident started in their jurisdiction but is under investigation by Northglenn Police.

Investigators in Thornton think the driver was under the influence, but Northglenn investigators were unable to confirm.

That suspect is now in custody.
