North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is not responding to Biden’s calls

According to the BBC, the Biden government has been getting the cold shoulder of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un since February. Biden’s North Korean team has tried to reach Pyongyang in a number of ways to ease the tensions created by the Trump administration, including the so-called ‘New York Channel’ through the North Korean mission to the United Nations , but they have not yet responded or even acknowledged the efforts. The US and North Korea came to a deadlock last year over unsuccessful talks over the rogue state’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. Trump met Kim three times, the last of which ended when the then US president cut off talks. The North Korean state media has also not yet recognized Biden as the new US president.
