Nominees for Destructoid’s Best PlayStation Game of 2020

Sliding from one generation to the next

Looking back at 2020, it is difficult for me to fathom that To dream and Spider-Man: Miles Morales – not to mention the PS5 in general – they all came out in the same year. It’s a long time ago. Too long.

Even with a new console on the market (if you can beat the scalping robots), the PlayStation 4 had a fantastic “last” year, although I hesitate to even call it that; it’s not going anywhere. As someone who luckily managed to get my hands on a PlayStation 5 at launch, I have to say I’m really splitting my time – I am just as likely to launch a PS4 title with this solid guy as an honest PS5 game.

In some cases, such as Spirit of Tsushima With a speed of 60 fps, these games run significantly better on the new hardware. I hope it continues like this. I have a clear feeling that even if truly PS5 exclusive games increase in 2021, I will still be visiting the PS4 hall of fame. That is a sign of lasting strength to me.

The PlayStation 4 was (and still is!) A great machine, and this year’s lineup brought it.

From the creative whimsy of To dream, to the effortless flow of Miles Morales, to the poignant terror of Last of Us Part II, and everything in between, PlayStation fans were not short on memorable experiences.

These are the nominees for Destructoid’s best PlayStation game of 2020:

[Note: This year, we’re once again running a separate Best Remaster/Remake award for our GOTY. Take that as you will!]
