T.The iPhone 12’s new MagSafe charging is a special feature, but there’s one thing no one ever mentions: Separating the phone from a charger isn’t easy, which means if you reach for the device and forget that it is charging, you can pull the cable a little too hard Nomad’s solution the problem is a solid 1.5 pound steel dock for Apple’s wireless charger that uses gravity to easily break MagSafe’s magnetic embrace.

The MagSafe Holder appears to be the simplest and most brutal way to improve the usability of Apple’s MagSafe charger without physically attaching the puck to the surface of a desk or nightstand. Even the installation seems simple enough. The MagSafe charger falls into a precisioncut-out hole in the top of the MagSafe holder where it is held firmly in place by non-permanent microsuction tape that the puck to be removed if necessary.

The charging cable is then routed to the base of the MagSafe mount, and that’s all there is to it. When an iPhone 12 is placed on it, it will automatically align and lock onto the wireless charging puck, but when users go to grab their device, the gravity pulling down on the 1.5-pound stainless steel dock is stronger than MagSafe’s magnetic grip, keeping everything but the phone firmly in place.

It is a simple solution, but one not cheap at $ 50That does not consider the cost of wireless charging hardware—all you get is a piece of heavy steel. So why not use that micro suction tape to attach Apple’s MagSafe charger directly to a desk or table? Well, rplacing the charger when an adhesive is involved is not as easy as moving it over Nomad’s MagSafe holder. There is also a risk that the glue will damage the finish of a desk or table. The Nomad’s holder has a giant non-slip rubber handle on the bottom that should protect any surface it sits on.
