No structural damage from forest fire near Terrace Hill Mobile Home Park in Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Delete. (WEAU) – A major forest fire forced residents in an Eau Claire mobile park to be evacuated from their homes Friday night.

Eau Claire Fire & Rescue Chief Matt Gunderson says crews were called to Terrace Hill Mobile Home Park in Block 3600 of Seymour Road at around 4:40 PM on Friday, April 2.

About 70 homes in the area were evacuated and a city bus was used for temporary accommodation. By 7:00 PM, all residents were allowed to re-enter their homes and were asked to take shelter because of the heavy smoke.

Eau Claire Fire & Rescue says the fire was under control after about 45 minutes, although high winds made it difficult. Crews stayed on site for about four hours to extinguish the remaining hot spots.

No injuries have been reported and there has been no damage to structures.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation
