NJ Weather: Latest snow forecasts from 11 forecasters ahead of Sunday’s winter storm

Hopefully you haven’t gotten your shovels away from the doozy of last week’s winter storm. The next round will come on Sunday. How much we get remains a question, but eleven different forecasters agree on one thing. You need that shovel.

The general forecasts are from 3 to 8 inches, with a small shift that has a large impact on the amount of snow, sleet or rain in different areas. The heaviest snow tires at the moment are aimed at Central Jersey.

It is all expected to start around sunrise on Sunday, with very heavy snowfall in the morning hours. The snow is likely to create dangerous travel conditions, meteorologists said.

Steven DiMartino, head of the NY NJ PA Weather forecasting company, is optimistic about the storm, warning residents that snow will come “like a freight train” and calling on people to stay off the road tomorrow.

Ahead of Sunday’s snowfall, winter storm warnings and advisories are in effect for 15 counties, usually through Sunday evening.

Here’s what some forecasters say for what’s to come, starting Saturday afternoon.
