NJ COVID Update: 105-Year-Old Survives Coronavirus, Gives Advice to Longevity

OCEAN COUNTY, New Jersey (WABC) – A woman in Ocean County who tested positive for COVID-19 on her 105th birthday last month has recovered and now has some advice.

Lucia DeClerck said on Tuesday that she is feeling great.

She has now lived through two world wars and two pandemics, and at the age of 105, she’s even starting to master Zoom.

So what’s her secret?

“I have no secret, all I do is pray, pray, pray – and not eat junk food,” said DeClerck.

Her family said she survived three cardiologists and three husbands and joked that she must be made of steel.

DeClerck says she believes gin-soaked raisins helped her stay disease-free.

She is now fully vaccinated against COVID and says she will continue her daily prayers for everyone.
