Nintendo Switch leak teases upcoming release of hit RPG

The Nintendo Switch appears to be receiving a port of a relatively popular action RPG in the coming month. The information comes through Nintendo’s official website, although the game’s announcement is not yet to be outright confirmed by the corresponding developer or publisher.

The specific game mentioned that may be coming to Switch is that of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The title was developed by Warhorse Studios and first released on consoles and PC in 2018, but has never made it to Switch since then. The way in which Kingdom come leaked for Switch was through Nintendo’s Japanese website, which mentions that the game will be released on the platform next month on Feb. 18, 2021.

The listing for Kingdom Come: Deliverance on Nintendo’s site is a bit strange in one important respect, though. The game is specifically de Royal edition, a version of the game that has not arrived on other platforms. There’s a chance that this could just be the specific name of this port on Switch, but that remains to be seen.

One thing that’s also important to note with this potential release is that assuming it’s genuine, it might not be a direct port. Some have mentioned that because of Kingdom come running on the CryEngine, it might be a bit more difficult to bring to Switch than other games would be. In the past, however, Nintendo has started giving users the option to play games via the cloud instead of downloading them natively to the hardware. An example of this is specifically with Check released on Switch last year but could only be played via the cloud. If Kingdom come proved to be a difficult game to transfer to the platform, Warhorse could choose to go this route.

Obviously, if Kingdom Come: Deliverance coming to Switch next month, you could imagine we’ll hear about its existence soon. If any more announcements are made about this new version of the game, we’ll keep you posted here at ComicBook.com.
