The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword may not necessarily be everyone’s favorite entry to the Zelda series, but according to Nintendo, it has laid many foundations for the Wii U swan song and Switch launch title, Breath of the wilderness

Nintendo has taken this as yet another social media opportunity to promote the upcoming high-definition version of Skyward Sword for Switch, reviewing moments that are strikingly similar to scenes from Breath of the Wild. Skyward Sword, of course, has its own unique style and is clearly no open world experience.

If a history lesson in the Zelda series doesn’t particularly interest you, perhaps another reason to consider picking up the HD version of Skyward Sword is the new “buttons only” control scheme. Nintendo used this new feature earlier this week to promote how “perfect” the game is for the Switch Lite.

What do you think about some of the aforementioned features introduced in Skyward Sword? Are you glad they transferred to Breath of the Wild? Are you going to buy Skyward Sword HD? Leave a comment below.
