Nintendo actually responded to a fan request asking for Rayman in Smash

One of the most popular requests for playable characters Super Smash Bros. has been Ubisoft’s Rayman over the years.

While he’s already been added to Nintendo’s all-star brawler as a genie and trophy, the odds of him competing as a playable character seem far less likely – especially now Ubisoft not make a lot of use of him, and given that Sakurai only has a few slots left in the second Fighters Pass.

However, this hasn’t stopped one fan from asking Ubisoft’s beloved mascot. The New Zealand Smash fan – who bears the name CallMeKorora on Twitter – sent a letter to Nintendo of America last year – asking for Rayman in Smash, and surprisingly Nintendo responded too.

In short – while there is no clear “yes” or “no” rule, the Nintendo representative was more than happy to forward the suggestion to the “other departments” within the company. Sure, it may not actually relay the message, but the letter itself is pretty neat. It also included some free bookmarks!

There’s been a lot of talk in the past about adding Rayman to Smash Bros. games as a playable fighter, and even Ubisoft said it was all for it several years ago:
