Nicaragua seizes cocaine worth more than $ 3 million

The Nicaraguan National Police reported this Monday of the seizure of two shipments of cocaine worth more than $ 3 million, in separate actions near the border with Honduras.

Police seized a total of 141 kilos of cocaine anti-drug agents performed in the divisions (provinces) of Chinandega and Nueva Segovia, both with limits on the border separating Nicaragua from Honduras

Of the total amount seized, 86 kilos were seized in the rural region of Los Clavos, municipality of El Viejo, Chinandega, worth $ 2.1 million, according to the second head of the Directorate of Legal Assistance (DAJ) of the National Police, Victoriano Ruiz, via government media.

In that operation, the agents did not detain anyone because the smugglers “allegedly” left the shipment of drugs “when they saw the police presence,” he said.

The remaining 55 kilos of cocaine was seized in the community of Santa Clara, San Fernando Municipality, Nueva Segovia, for a value of $ 1.3 million, the National Police.

On this occasion, the officers captured two men, identified as Lenner Ramón Rodríguez González and Deybon Benwel, whose nationalities were not stated.
