Kaapo Kakko was not lined up for a 4-1 win against the Washington Capitals on Saturday and will be placed on the NHL COVID-19 protocol list, MSG Network reported.

The forward scored a shootout goal on Thursday in a 3-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers. He scored three points (two goals, one assists) in 14 games this season.

Come on Julien Gauthier, which was a healthy scratch on Thursday, replaced Kakko in the line-up.

Defender K’Andre Miller returned to the lineup after missing the past two games with an upper body injury.

Senators from Ottawa

Marcus Hogberg will be 1-2 weeks without injury to the lower body.

The goalkeeper left 12 minutes in the opening period of a 7-3 defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday after conceding one goal out of five shots.

[Hogberg] will be out for a week or so, probably a few weeks, ”said coach DJ Smith Saturday.

Hogberg is 2-5-0 with an average of 4.34 against goals and a serve percentage of 0.859 in 10 games (seven starts) this season.

Joey Okay was recalled from Belleville from the American Hockey League and assigned to the taxi crew on Saturday. He is expected to make a backup Matt Murray against the Montreal Canadiens on Sundays (7 p.m. ET; SN, RDS, NHL.TV).

Smith said that Thomas Chabot will be a race time decision on Sunday. The defender did not play on Thursday and did not practice on Saturday due to an upper body injury.
