The star quarterback of the Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes, had to start in the third quarter during the Divisional Round game against Cleveland Browns for a definite blow to the head. On a 1-yard third-down play, he attempted to run down the right flank, but was stopped by Mack Wilson, who dropped him on the 48-yard line for Kansas.
He woke up visibly dizzy after a collision and was immediately taken to the medical shop on the team bench before going to the locker room. The Chiefs reported that he is under investigation for a possible concussion. It wasn’t the only visit to the medical shop during the game after he had to be checked for an injury to his left foot in the first half.
The QB was also the lead actor in a play that went viral. After scoring a touchdown, the party was the highlight: the quarterback threw the ball and reached the last stand of Arrowhead Stadium. A receiver disguised as an amateur captured the ball and after fighting with several hands, he was left with an unexpected memory.
Before his injury, Mahomes had completed 21 of 30 passes for 255 yards and a touchdown, plus he had three carries for 14 yards and a score. He was substituted in the lineup of Kansas City by veteran Chad Henne.
Survive and progress.
