New Pokémon Snap Trailer Showcases Slick New Online Features

With a release date of April 30 New Pokémon Snap is just around the corner – so Friday’s Pokémon Presents was a perfect time to tell us a bit more about the photography-focused exclusive Switch. Here’s the latest trailer.

New Pokémon Snap is the sequel to the Nintendo 64 game with an almost identical title, but this time you help a professor with an ‘ecological study’. To study the bag samples, you have to ride a kind of rail tram, which takes you through the natural environment. And the better your photos, the higher your score.

The game takes into account things like the size of your subject, how you frame them, their attitude, whether they are looking at the camera and more. You can also feed samples to take better photos. And apparently the game shows you that certain monsters behave in completely new ways – after all, you see them in the wild.

My favorite part? Watching Raichu surf and shred. You can also go underwater and use an item to glow monsters, which will lead to different types of behavior. You can also use different types of stickers and frames for your photos. You can then upload photos to an official platform, where you can see the snaps of others. The best photos are featured by the developer. You can also adjust photos after you take them so you can adjust things like brightness, blur, zoom and more.
