New Mario Party apparently in development at Nintendo

Nintendo seems to be in the early stages of working on a new one Mario party game. This upcoming installment would be the first since the 2018 release of Super Mario party and it looks like it will be developed by the same studio as well.

This information comes about via a new social media post saying developer NDcube is looking to recruit for a new Mario party. NDcube is the studio that was previously worked on Super Mario party among other games such as Mario Party 10, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and Clubhouse Games: 51 Global Classics. The post implores those interested in working on the next game in the series to join the larger team at NDcube.

As a whole, this information should not be considered shocking in several respects. Considering that NDcube has been working on the Mario party series across multiple submissions and platforms, it’s pretty clear that they would be called back to work on the next iteration of the series once Nintendo gave the green light. In addition, the fact that Nintendo wants even more Mario party coming about in the future is only obvious. Super Mario party on Nintendo Switch sold incredibly well for the publisher, meaning it was only a matter of time before a sequel was in development.

Because NDcube is clearly still looking for personnel for this next Mario party game, it may take a while before we see the game made public. It’s also worth noting that NDcube itself has also worked on mobile titles before, so maybe it’s no lockdown that this future title is coming to the Switch by default.

No matter what the future holds, more Mario party seems to be something you can plan for. Whenever that future title in the series is revealed, we’ll of course let you know here at ComicBook.com. Until then, you can keep following all of our Nintendo coverage here.
