New Jersey gym owners offer a free membership for those who do not receive a COVID-19 vaccine

New Jersey gym owners offer free memberships to people who don’t get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Frank Trumbetti and Ian Smith, the owners of Atilis Gym in Bellmawr, NJ, on Tuesday continued to push back against mitigation efforts amid a pandemic with their new offering.

“In the light of @Krispy Kreme giving free donuts for receiving the CVD recording, here at @BuienRadarNL We’re giving free memberships to anyone who doesn’t get vaccinated, ”Smith wrote in a tweet Tuesday.

“We believe in health – the real way – exercise, good nutrition, lots of vitamin D, zinc and an environment to de-stress,” he continued.

Krispy Kreme announced Monday that anyone who could present a valid COVID-19 vaccination card could get a free original glazed donut “anytime, every day, even every day – until the rest of 2021.”

The owners of the New Jersey gym have made headlines several times during the pandemic, challenging the government’s coronavirus rules.

In August, a New Jersey city council voted to revoke the gym’s operating license because the brothers were not complying with state mandates. The duo were also arrested in July for keeping their business open, despite a state order requiring the closure of indoor gyms.

“We all have the right to make a living. We all have the right to really do what we as Americans want to do,” Trumbetti said during an August interview with CNN. ‘We have been promised freedom. And in fact they have imposed such oppressive restrictions on us that it is simply unacceptable to us. ‘

The news comes as public health experts continue to encourage Americans to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, warning that to achieve herd immunity, more than three-quarters of the population must be vaccinated.

Several states, including Texas and Mississippi, have lifted restrictions on the coronavirus despite expert warnings that it could spark a wave of vaccination efforts.
