New Halo Infinite Details have divided Xbox fans

A metric ton Halo infinite details have been revealed, some of which are thrilling Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC players, but some players are looking forward to the new Halo game less excited. As for the details themselves – which are the way of a new Q&A with 343 Industries developers – they vary from gameplay to story, and some are brand new, while others are updates to pre-existing information.

One of the new details is that there will be a day and night cycle in play, as well as a weather system that includes things like storms, but no downpours or blizzards, though 343 Industries teases that this could come in the future. Linked to this, which enemies you encounter and how they behave will change depending on the time of day.

To compliment this, it will be wildlife, although there are no hostile wildlife at the moment. And, of course, wildlife will vary between the different biomes. According to 343 Industries, the “Pacific Northwest” is the primary biome, but sub-biomes will add different environments, such as swamps and war-affected areas.

That said, exploration of these areas will be limited in part because it is not a true open world game. However, missions allow for multiple approaches due to its open-world design. And for that you can deviate from the path and explore different side contents and objectives. The main story is the main story and must be completed in order, but there is freedom between these missions.

Other details include the word with no dual-wielding, no playable elites, audio logs, the ability to turn things down from Zeta Halo, random encounters, bases / outposts, and dynamic cutscenes that react and change depending on the time of day, the weather and what weapons you are holding.

Finally, in Multiplayer, players can only hold one device. Furthermore, once you use it, it is gone. However, there are plans to allow players to adjust this through custom games.

In general, these are all the salient details that are shared. However, if you want more detailed details, click here. That said, and as noted, players are split on these details, at least on Reddit. For example, one of the main comments is about being excited to rip things off Zeta Halo. However, another top commenter expressed disappointment with the lack of biomes and weather variants. And of course, while many of the details above are exciting, many of the takeaways so far have been the lack of dual-wielding and playable Elites.

Halo infinite will be released worldwide sometime later this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and PC.
