A new song featuring the late rap legend DMX, Swizz Beatz and French Montana has been released. Been to War, which appears in season two of the Epix series Godfather of Harlem, arrives about a week after DMX died of a drug overdose and subsequent heart attack. Listen to “Been to War” below.
Before his death, DMX was hospitalized and given a livelihood for days. After his death, countless members of the music community shared words of remembrance. Among them was Swizz Beatz, who posted a tribute to the rapper on Instagram as a video and described him as a “different type of artist, different type of creative, different type of soul.”
