The 2021 BMW 5 Series is one of the best new BMW models on sale today, being one of the last sedans that the automaker has not ruined the formula of a modest German sedan that hides motorsport-level performance. The new M5 CS hleaked early as now, and it’s still happily reserved on the outside and cheeky under the hood.
The 2021 M5 CS was featured in a teaser last month. That video confirmed that the new 5 Series will deliver a top-of-the-line 626 horsepower – 10 horsepower more than the M5 Competition and 26 horsepower more than the standard M5 – coming from a tuned version of those models’ 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.
The M5 CS has bronze exterior accents common to many modern BMWs, including the grille surround. The choice of a darkened grid to goit wouldn’t have been my personal preference. In my eyes, this car now has lips. Muah.

There are also bronze-colored wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero rubber, a new lip spoiler on the trunk and what looks like a custom exhaust with dark accents and a rear diffuser.
Another nice upgrade is how the new CS drops 230 pounds in weight from the Competition model at just 4,114 pounds. Inside, there’s a custom interior with carbon bucket seats and a custom four-seater sedan layout, unlike the other 5 Series models in the line-up. Carbon fiber plays a major role in the weight loss of this new CS trim, including a carbon roof, reshaped bonnet, front splitter, diffuser, spoiler and mirrors, all woven in CFRP.
However, the CS comes with a huge price tag considering it costs a whopping $ 30,900 more than the M5 competition! That works out to a dazzling $ 142,000 for a lot of carbon, some trick wheels, and 10 extra horsepower. If you can bear that price, get your order now, as BMW is offering the CS for the 2022 model year only and will begin shipping them to US customers later this year.
