Nets don’t have a timetable for Kevin Durant’s return

Steve Nash would not provide a timeline on Kevin Durant’s left hamstring who sidelined him in Sacramento on Monday and is expected to keep him out in Phoenix on Tuesday. But Nash did not assure the Nets that the problem was serious or long-lasting.

‘I don’t have timelines. I know he will miss [Monday] and [Tuesday] night, and then we’ll keep following it. But I don’t think it’s a long-term thing, ”Nash said. “I don’t want to give it the kiss of death and tell it right now. So we’ll just keep monitoring it, and hopefully it’s a short-term thing. “

Durant was injured in Saturday’s win over Golden State. Imaging turned up nothing catastrophic, although Nash was noncommittal.

“I’m not going there because I will probably say something that I shouldn’t say, but just let me say it doesn’t appear to be a long term injury,” said Nash. “Hopefully this is something we can get through soon.

“You never know; sometimes imaging is perfect, and sometimes imaging represents something bigger than what’s actually taking place. So I don’t want to go too far in terms of predicting how long it will be gone. But everyone believes this is more short-lived is. “

DeAndre Jordan was briefly absent. After missing the Warriors game for family reasons, he was back on Monday and didn’t expect to miss any more time.

“No, it’s over,” Nash said. “We are delighted to have it back. And we missed him, and he’ll be ready to go tonight. “

Despite Jordan’s return, the Nets went small against the Kings with Jeff Green on stretch-5, Joe Harris on stretch-4 and Bruce Brown on small forward.
