Natal assures Romero was hiding in order not to be summoned, analyzes the next steps

Former San Juan mayor candidate for the Victory Citizen Movement (MVC), Manuel Natal Albelo, responded to the dismissal by order of the court of first instance to the lawsuit he filed to contest Miguel Romero’s election.

According to the Court’s ruling, the lawsuit was dismissed “for violating the five-day term of jurisdiction” to sue a challenged candidate.

Natal, however, said on social networks that Romero allegedly hid in order to “prevent him from being subpoenaed” and that “we nevertheless handed him a copy of the lawsuit and the attachments for his home within 5 days set by the electoral law All detailed in an affidavit of the subpoena ”.

On January 21, Romero had filed a motion with the Court alleging that he had not been served on time, as required by electoral law.

Contrary to the provisions of the electoral law, Romero claimed, without swearing, that he was not served in time. The court dismissed the claim. On these grounds, a candidate can board a plane and wait 5 days to pass. , not to respond, ” continued the former representative.

According to Natal, the Court’s decision is “incorrect and contradictory”. This then “on the one hand applies the Rules of Civil Procedure for the summons, but not to calculate the term of summons”.

The former candidate concluded by ensuring that he evaluates next steps along with his legal representation.
