NASA publishes full video of Ingenuity flight on Mars: Jezero crater is now a helipad

The NASA has to the whole world the complete images of the flight of the Ingenuity in the Jezero crater area of Mars.

Last Monday in the early morning hours, the small drone managed to make the first flight of a motor vehicle on another planet at 2:15 PM. AM Peru, confirming the mission’s success at 5.15am.

Hours after the first images, the NASA posted the full video of the feat showing the full 30 seconds of takeoff and landing. Ingenuity’s flight was delayed several times because of an issue where you had to reinstall your flight control software.

The video was recorded at a focal length of 34mm at 6.7 frames per second and is a sequence of approximately 1,400 frames, according to the Imaging Scientist of Persistence, Justin Maki.

A space helipad

Made with the flight, now the Ingenuity It has been designated by the International Civil Aviation Organization as the IGY-1.

The vanishing point has also been converted into a space heliport called JZRO.

From there, the Ingenuity make up to four flights, each of greater duration and altitude.
