Multi-county police chase ends with driver driving into Orange County Walmart – NBC Los Angeles

A police chase of a black Mercedes-Benz with no license plate began in Riverside County, before ending with the chase of the driver driving into an Orange County Walmart Monday night.

Newschopper4 was chasing around 10:30 p.m. in the Anaheim Hills area, with a black car traveling at slow speeds on the 91 Freeway westbound.

The chase began at 9:57 p.m., Riverside police said. The chase began in connection with a vehicle code violation. Riverside police said the car had no license plates and three people were inside when the chase began, but one passenger got off the chase in Riverside.

The car was traveling at about 55 mph on the highway, so it wasn’t a high speed chase.

At around 10:47 PM, the car drove off the freeway into above-ground streets in the Buena Park area and began to drive slightly erratic, occasionally stopping suddenly.

At one of those stops, the black car came to a stop in the middle of the street before a passenger door opened and a woman jumped out of the car.

Shortly after 11pm, the driver pulled into a Westminster shopping center, before pulling up the curb and pulling the car directly in front of a Walmart’s main entrance before running inside.

About five to ten minutes later, the police appeared to have stopped someone in a corner nearby. Anaheim police confirmed that the man being held was the driver of the chase and that he had been arrested.
