‘Much has been lost’ with the royal family

CBS has released a new clip of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s highly anticipated sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, in which Markle says of Buckingham Palace, “I don’t know how they could expect us to just shut up after all this time.”

“How do you feel about the Palace hearing your truth today?” Winfrey asks as the violins in the background begin to swell dramatically.

“I don’t know how they could expect that after all this time we would still be silent, if there is an active role the Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” said Markle, who is allegedly using a nickname for the royals originated by King George VI.

“And if that carries the risk of losing things,” she adds, “a lot has already been lost.”

Much of the conversation surrounding this week’s interview was monopolized by allegations against Markle, 39, that she bullied at least two palace workers during her short time at the said company. The Times of London quoted sources as saying that during her tenure at Kensington Palace, the Duchess of Sussex had in fact reduced the staff to tears.

Markle called the allegations a “calculated smear campaign” that was timed to the Winfrey tell-all as Buckingham Palace announced an investigation into the allegations on Wednesday.

Markle and Harry left the Royal Family and moved to the States in a breathlessly veiled January 2020 decision called “Megxit.”
