Movistar Salud for telemedicine: prices, conditions, consultations

What is Movistar Salud?

Movistar Salud is a telemedicine service for individuals or companies that allows us to receive medical care by mobile phone 24 hours a day, every day of the year. There are different packages and Movistar has developed this service together with Teladoc Health to do this anyone from home can be connected to a doctor to ask questions or even make video calls if we have any questions. In addition, it has a range of additional services such as a Get in shape plan or Digital pre-evaluation of symptoms which we will explain in the following sections.

It is not private health insurance and there is no personal medical care. It is a telemedicine service that, as the company itself explains, is about “the connection maintained between doctor and patient that is not made personally, but through the use of devices related to new information technologies or communications”. We don’t have to move in case we have a medical consultation that is not too serious.

Movistar Salud’s doctors are general practitioners (there are no specialists) and they are all registered as doctors in Spain.

Who can hire it?

Like other Movistar services such as Device Insurance, it can be rented by anyone regardless of whether or not they are a customer of a Movistar service. Movistar Salud is available for anyone over 18 years old although minors can also benefit as long as there is permission and management by an adult to administer the account.

Prices and programs

The service has one 10 euro registration feeI know it “disappears” if you keep the subscription for three months. If you get tired in the first or second month, the proportional part of the time you have used will be deducted from the 10 euros.

Two programs are available: a personal program or a family program. Now both have the option to try it out for free for the first three months. From the first three months we will have to pay a monthly subscription. We can cancel it whenever we want, even if it has a permanence for these first three months or you have to pay a penalty for cancellation.

Personal program

The personalized program has coverage for a single adult who can use all the features we will explain below: take advantage of prescriptions, see a doctor by phone or video or follow the training and health program with the support of a nutritionist. The personal program has a price of 6.95 euros per month and can be rented by any adult.

Family program

The family program provides us with the same features as the previous one, but provides us coverage for this two adults and for all minors of the same family unit. It currently has three months free, but the monthly price is 10.95 euros per month. It is especially useful in cases where children are at home, thanks to the fact that you can resolve all the common doubts from their first years of life.

Medical consultation

The most useful tool or function of Movistar Salud is the medical consultation thanks to the fact that a team of general practitioners is ready to answer all questions 24/7. You can call at any time of the week. You can request an appointment at any time telephone consultation or video consultation. You must provide relevant information such as pictures or medical reports that you are considering. For example if you have some kind of stain on your skin.

Once they receive the consultation, a doctor will contact you through your chosen route and you can ask any questions you may have. In addition, may indicate treatment suitable (in the case of being able to make a diagnosis via video call or telephone) and will prescribe some additional medical tests if necessary. No need to go out and it is designed for a variety of conditions such as anxiety, stress, allergies or non-urgent health conditions.

Prescriptions

With Movistar Salud you can send a prescription with the necessary medication or it can prescribe diagnostic tests or additional analyzes when the doctor treating you deems it necessary. Any medication within the Teladoc Prescription Policy as anti-inflammatories, antipyretics, analgesics. Or diagnostic medical tests or analyzes. It is enough to bring the printed mail to the pharmacy or show it on the mobile phone, as the electronic prescription is sent to the patient via a one-time BIDI code.

Digital pre-evaluation of symptoms

One of the tools or services offered by Movistar Salud is the digital symptom pre-evaluation which gives us access to an online questionnaire (based on artificial intelligence) that allows us to guide ourselves to our diagnosis or recommend the next steps. What this tool does is you can describe your symptoms, fill out the questionnaire, and get advice.

You follow a few simple steps to get guidance:

  • You have an orientation from your symptoms
  • Talk to a doctor in case you have any questions to resolve

Get in shape

Another of the services it includes is “Get in Shape: Online Telemedicine Program.” It is a program in which you answer a short questionnaire to evaluate your physical condition and a nutrition and exercise plan is configured to follow for four or eight weeks. In this way, you can achieve the goal of weight loss through healthy menu suggestions, follow-up questionnaires, or a nutritionist who will evaluate your home.

How to rent

Hiring one of the two options of the Movistar Salud service is easy as you just have to go to the Movistar website and follow the contract steps.

You must provide your personal information, full address and an account number or IBAN for the direct debit of the monthly fee. Confirm the conditions and you have contracted Movistar Salud.

How to use

After you have closed the service, you will receive an email with a link. Via this link you can register with your data and access your account.

Movistar Salud is available through the website, where you can tap “Login” to access all your data. Or you can download and access the free apps for iOS and Android from your phone.

If you want make a video consultation You don’t need anything else from the application, except to give the necessary permissions to the app itself. In case you are making a video consultation from the browser, you can do this from the Movistar Salud website and from a compatible browser. In some cases, they explain, it may ask you to install an additional plug-in that enables video calling.
