Movie chases in the heart of Miami Beach: Police officers catch car thieves to the surprise of tourists

Officers of Miami Beach police chased the crew of a black Cadillac that refused to stop after passing a stop sign. The agents were conducting transit work around 2.30pm from February 21 when the Cadillac ignored the prompt to stop.

Authorities began to chase the suspected car, but reported that “the driver exited the vehicle near 10th Street and Michigan Avenue.” This given, authorities placed an active perimeter from 9th to 11th Street between Alton Rd and Michigan and they explained that the suspect was a shirtless Hispanic man with jeans and tattoos on his left arm.

The detainee is currently charged with fleeing and escaping authorities, grand theft of a vehicle and reckless driving.

Car theft is one of the most common non-violent crimes in Miami-Dade, along with theft and robbery. According to official police figures, In 2019 alone, there were 366 car thefts; 5,894 thefts and 717 thefts in the province.

However, violent crimes such as shootings, fights and stabbings have also increased in Miami Beach. Three people were injured in a shooting at the end of January.

The authorities have been identified as a suspect Keshawn MacLean, 32, and two more people for attempted murder in the incident that occurred at 8:41 PM on January 31.

The images of videos circulating on social networks they showed a black man getting out of a car to claim something from another person. Moments later, one of them pulls out a gun and starts firing.
