HBO Max just brought a tasty video game with new looks to the table for the Warner Bros. movies that will be debuts this year on the streaming service, and you want to taste it. Except amuse-bouches from The suicide squad and Space Jam sequels, it contains rather juicy images of the Mortal Kombat restart. Just don’t eat The matrix 4 logo – it’s just the garnish.
Considering that the video is also chock-full of footage from movies you may not care about, but in terms of emerging genre goodness here are the new things to watch out for:
• Mortal Kombat‘s Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim) demonstrating his ice-making powers,
• A concerned Lebron James and Bugs Bunny together on the baseball field, while Lebron strangely enough as CG-animated like bugs,
• Patrick Wislon on the phone for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,
• The suicide squad‘s Peacemaker (John Cena) philosophizes with Bloodsport (Idris Elba),
G / O Media can receive a commission
• The complete, stunningly awesome logo for the next Matrix movie at the end, assuming you are super-in both The matrix and movie logos.
Although it would have been nice to get some Matrix 4 footage there – it’s been shooting for a while, and you don’t need an advanced CG animation to film Keanu Reeves in sunglasses and a black leather trench coat for five seconds – everything looks pretty sharp! And since these movies appear on Max at the same time, they are the closest things we have to bet for sure when it comes to movie releases this year … for now.
