More than 250,000 Utahns are now fully vaccinated

More than three-quarters of a million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Utah, and more than a quarter of a million Utahns have received the second dose of the vaccine. That’s about 8.4% of the state’s population who received two doses.

Utah reported seven more deaths on Wednesday; five of these occurred before February 10 and have only recently been confirmed as related to the coronavirus. The state medical examiner determined that one of the deaths reported Monday – a man in Iron County, aged 65-84 – was not caused by COVID-19, and the man’s death was removed from the state’s list. achieved.

Vaccinations administered in the past day / total vaccinations • 18,236 / 759,533.

Number of Utahns that have received two doses • 269,368.

Cases reported in the past day • 729.

Deaths reported in the past day • Seven.

Salt Lake County reported five deaths: a man and a woman between the ages of 45 and 64; a man and a woman 65-84; and a woman over 85.

There was one death each in Box Elder and Washington counties, both men 65-84.

Hospital admissions reported in the past day • 212. That’s a lot less than Tuesday. Of those currently hospitalized, 92 are in intensive care – the same as on Tuesday.

Tests reported in the past day • 8,249 people were first tested. A total of 21,267 people were tested.

Percentage of positive tests • According to the state’s original method, the rate is 8.8%. That is lower than the seven-day average of 10.2%.

The new method counts all test results, including repeated tests from the same person. Wednesday’s rate is now at 3.4%, lower than the seven-day average of 4.8%.
