More in Douglas, Sarpy, Cass counties may schedule vaccines on Tuesday

(WOWT) – Below are today’s vaccination updates, as well as data reports on new cases and other COVID-19 statistics reported by health officials in Nebraska and Iowa.

70 and older in Douglas County to register for a vaccine

The Douglas County Health Department has announced that people 70 and older will be able to register for the COVID-19 vaccine starting Tuesday at 9 a.m.

To register, go to the Douglas County Health Department website and click the link in the large yellow box that says “COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment Sign Up.” Those requiring telephone assistance can call the DCHD COVID-19 information line at 402-444-3400.

More Sarpy, Cass counters eligible for vaccine Tuesday

Residents of Sarpy and Cass County born in 1951 or earlier (age 70 or older) can schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment starting Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Notification will be sent to those registered for updates through the county health department or Nebraska’s statewide pre-registration survey, according to a health district release

Vaccinations are only possible by appointment.

Those with questions are asked to call 402-339-4334 and select option 1. This telephone line is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

To date, the Sarpy / Cass health department has reported 112 COVID-19 deaths. According to the COVID-19 dashboard, the health district is reporting 670 active cases and a positivity rate of 24.4% as of Saturday. SCHD has confirmed 21,305 COVID-19 cases, with 20,523 recovered, since the start of the pandemic.

Douglas County reports a positivity rate of 20.7%, more cases

The Douglas County Health Department reported 315 new cases as of Friday. Daily song updates are no longer released on weekends. The total number of cases in the province since the start of the pandemic has now reached 62,745.

The 7-day moving average of reported cases is 108.

A positivity rate of 20.7% was reported for the week ending Saturday. The positivity rate for the week before was reported at 20.6%.

No new deaths were reported. The total number of deaths remains at 636.

Vaccination Clinics

Douglas County

Until further notice, Douglas County clinics will provide COVID-19 vaccinations to eligible residents at the following times and locations:

  • TUE / WOED – Christ Community Church, located at 404 S. 108th St., clinics will provide vaccinations from 9 am to 5 pm
  • WO / VR – CHI Immanuel Medical Center, located at 72nd Street and Sorensen Parkway, vaccinations are given from 9am to 5pm
  • THU / SUN – Nebraska Medicine Testing & Vaccination Clinic, located at 144th Street and Millard Avenue, vaccinations are given from 9am to 5pm on Thursdays and 9am to 3pm on Sundays.
  • SAT – Creighton University’s Rasmussen Center, located at 702 N. 17th St., vaccinations are administered from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Pottawattamie County

COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be held Friday, February 12, 19, and 26 at the Mid-America Center.

County residents aged 65 and older are asked to apply through the Pottawattamie County vaccination website. Anyone who needs assistance can also call the Connections Area Agency on Aging at 712-328-2540 to sign up for a telephone appointment.
