There were 406 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Montana on Tuesday, and the statewide death toll since the start of the pandemic is 1,407, according to data collected by MTN News.
The number of newly confirmed cases includes 306 cases in Cascade County that had not been previously reported in recent months.
The number of active cases in the state is currently 856, according to MTN News, and there are a total of 102,776 cases of the virus in Montana. Of the total cases, 100,513 have been recovered.
There are currently 54 people hospitalized for treatment of the virus, and the cumulative number of hospitalizations is 4,683.
The number of tests conducted in the state has reached 1,141,965, up from 4,177 over the previous 24-hour reporting period.
The number of Montanans who have received at least one of the two vaccination shots is 367,211, and the number of Montanans who have received both injections and are now fully vaccinated is 142,490.
The numbers reported by MTN reflect the latest data from the Montana COVID website, along with additional data received from the county’s health departments.
Note: As new COVID-19 cases persist in Montana, the disparity between state data from DPHHS and local data from regional health departments also persists.

Local county health departments can be warned of cases prior to Montana DPHHS. Since those countries share that information with the public, MTN believes this should be reflected in our reporting. Using that local data means there will be times when MTN coronavirus data is not in line with the status report.
