San Juan Mayor Miguel Romero confirmed tonight that after receiving the results of the COVID-19 molecular test, he did indeed test positive for the virus.
“Good evening, I received the result of the molecular test that I conducted today which tested positive for COVID-19,” wrote Romero.
The first branch president assured that he currently has no symptoms and will remain isolated according to medical protocols and restrictions.
The mayor had previously assured that “as part of the preparations to take my daughter to her university, I had tested the COVID-19 virus antigens, which gave a positive result for the presence of virus proteins.

Governor Pedro Pierluisi is in isolation after Romero’s positive test when he met the mayor yesterday.
Pierluisi assured himself in an interview with Jay and His X-Rays that he is feeling fine and will remain in quarantine for the next few days.
“I doubt I have this (but) it’s better to be safe,” added the governor.
