Moderna is pushing forward the expected delivery of 300 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to the end of July

gave an update on the delivery of its COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, saying it expects to deliver 100 million doses to the US government by the end of March. The company said it has pushed back the expected delivery of the second 100 million doses to the end of May from the end of June and the third 100 million doses to the end of July, from the end of September. To date, the company said it has delivered 45.4 million doses of its vaccine, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said about 25.5 million doses of the vaccine have been delivered. Moderna’s vaccine requires two doses, weeks apart. Moderna said it does not intend to stockpile large quantities of doses to keep shipments running smoothly, as it has chosen to send doses to the government as soon as they are produced. Shares of Moderna, which rose 0.1% in premarket trading, are up 87.6% in the last three months through Friday, while the S&P 500 SPX,
-0.11%
has gained 8.5%.
