Dr. Shirley Chi, a board-certified dermatologist, explains what the FDA committee noted.
“In these cases, the patients all had swelling and inflammation in the area that received the filler. A few patients had cheek filler six months prior to their vaccination and one patient received lip filler two days after the vaccine. All were treated with steroids and anti-inflammatory drugs. -histamines and all their reactions disappeared, ”she said.
Millions of people have administered cosmetic facial fillers to a doctor to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and to strengthen cheeks and lips. Chi says the response to the vaccine is immunological.
“Your immune system that causes inflammation is activated when you get a vaccine, that’s how it should work. So it makes sense that you see an immune response in certain areas where they see a substance that doesn’t naturally occur in your body,” says Chi. .
Chi also says that you shouldn’t let this stop getting the vaccine when it is your turn and that any reactions from the derma fillers could be easily handled by medical staff.
