Mitchell Robinson injures his hand in Knicks’ win over Wizards

Mitchell Robinson had a massive first half on Friday night, before suffering a broken right hand late in the second quarter of the Knicks 109-91 victory in Washington.

The team’s starting center will be re-evaluated in New York on Saturday, the team said.

Robinson had 10 points and 14 rebounds – the first double-double of his career before half time – before appearing to injure his hand trying to block a shot at the end of the second quarter.

The third-year center has started each of the Knicks’ first 27 games, averaging 8.4 points and 8.4 boards per game.

Veteran big men Nerlens Noel and Taj Gibson would likely see more game time in Robinson’s absence.
