Miranda Lambert and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, were involved in an accident in Georgia on their way back to Nashville.
The country star, 37, announced the scary news on her Instagram on Friday. She accompanied the story with a series of images and videos from the trip, using the caption to explain what had happened.
‘You are all at home in Nashville. A few days ahead of schedule, ”she wrote. “On the way back, we stopped in Greensboro, GA to have a few restful days at Lake Oconee. I actually picked that place for an overnight stay because it charted perfectly for our trip, but when we got there I didn’t want to leave. We stayed an extra day because it was so beautiful. (And we ran out of clothes and had to do the laundry) I also had to work, so why not have a view while zooming in? “
The “Gunpowder & Lead” singer said they were looking for a place to dine and found a hotel in front of the KOA campground ten minutes away.
“Unfortunately, on the way back through Atlanta, a hole in a small car with temperature plates drove erratically and tried to squeeze between us and a 70’s semi-truck on I-20W,” explained Lambert. “It hit the airstream on the passenger side and sent us to the left lane. We fished fairly well, but stepped on the shoulder as soon as possible to assess the damage. No one was hurt, thank the good Lord. But nobody stopped and the car sped away. “
She went on, adding, ‘We are so grateful that nothing worse has happened. Our vehicle and trailer were drivable so we made a report and towed it home. “
Lambert believes her mother’s spiritual intervention was the divine intervention they needed that day. “I called Mom right away to say I know her prayers are always heard because I know she prays for us around 3:30 every morning,” she said, adding, “Especially when we’re on the road.”
She also praised her husband’s driving skills. “And @brendanjmcloughlin kept our trailer pretty stable because it was swept from the side,” she said. “Thanks to @airstream_inc and @southland_rv we will be getting fixed soon and going back to our vagabonds. Anyway it was a great trip overall and we learned we have a lot to see and a lot to be thankful for.”
Lambert and McLoughlin are nearing their two-year wedding anniversary after tying the knot in February 2019. Last December, the pair sent out adorable Christmas cards featuring a collage of Lambert alongside McLoughlin and their animals with the message, “Merry Christmas from the farmer. “
In November 2020, her husband also wrote a sweet note to Lambert in honor of her 37th birthday. He shared a collection of photos of the country singer and wrote in the caption, “I would like to wish my wonderful wife a happy birthday.”
“Not only am I grateful, but I am so proud to call you my wife,” he continued. You are the most sincere and caring person I have ever met. The number of rescue dogs we have says it all. You do everything you can to make sure that the people around you are always happy. “
“The list is endless of all the reasons I love you, but there is one that holds a special place,” he added. “That way you stay true to who you are.
